Overview
For the main aims of Our World Together please go to the About page.
This page helps you to navigate the site to find the information you may need on the state of global heating, the changes we need to make in our lives and why those changes are vital.
Many of you will already know some of this, and may just want to make pledges for actions you will take, or are already taking. So you could skip to the Pledges page, where each pledge also links to appropriate sections if you need them. Posters are also available to display on noticeboards and social media wherever you can. And once you make a pledge there is a pledge certificate (on the profile menu ) you can also display on social media. If there is enough interest, we can provide a forum where like-minded people could share tips and experiences.
More depth and detail on the climate crisis can be found on the hamburger menu , outlined below.
The Impacts page examines those changes that have already happened around the world due to global heating. It relates the changes to the impacts on peoples’ lives, as well as other animal species and their habitats.
To see the state of all our efforts so far in tackling the climate crisis, and to see how urgent it is for us to act, go to How Bad is it? This also links to Climate recap: key concepts if you need some explanation of concepts.
Why does it matter? outlines the reasons why some specific changes in our behaviour and lifestyle are vital in our efforts to keep global heating below 1.5°C. Each of these sections also has a link to the relevant actions we can take under What can I do?
What can I do? lists the changes that we, as individuals, need to consider making as a matter of urgency. Many sections include tips on how to achieve change, and here we can pledge to take specific actions (which are also listed on the Pledges page). Each section has a link to the reasons for action in Why does it matter?
There is more explanation to be found under Blog and Articles.
